Author Guideline

General Information

Al-Muharrik: Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam publishes original research articles, review articles, conceptual papers, and case studies in the field of Islamic Religious Education and related disciplines. Manuscripts must be original, have not been published previously, and are not under consideration for publication in another journal.

The journal applies a double-blind peer-review process to ensure the quality and integrity of every published article.

 

Manuscript Preparation

Authors should prepare their manuscripts using the official journal template and ensure that the manuscript is written in clear and academic English or Bahasa Indonesia.

Manuscript Format

  • Manuscript length: 5,000–8,000 words (including references).
  • Paper size: A4.
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt.
  • Line spacing: 1.5.
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides.
  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx).

 

Article Structure

The manuscript should be organized as follows:

  1. Title
  2. Author(s)
  3. Affiliation(s)
  4. Corresponding Author's Email
  5. Abstract (150–250 words)
  6. Keywords (3–5 keywords)
  7. Introduction
  8. Method
  9. Results and Discussion
  10. Conclusion
  11. Acknowledgements (optional)
  12. Declaration of AI Use (if applicable)
  13. References

 

Title

  • Concise and informative.
  • Maximum 20 words.
  • Reflects the main content of the article.

 

Abstract

The abstract should briefly describe:

  • Background
  • Purpose
  • Method
  • Main findings
  • Conclusion

The abstract should not contain citations.

 

Keywords

Provide 3–5 keywords that accurately represent the manuscript.

 

Introduction

The introduction should include:

  • Research background
  • Literature review
  • Research gap
  • Novelty
  • Research objectives

 

Method

The method section should clearly explain:

  • Research design
  • Participants or data sources
  • Instruments
  • Data collection procedures
  • Data analysis techniques
  • Ethical considerations (if applicable)

 

Results and Discussion

Present research findings systematically and discuss them by comparing the findings with relevant theories and previous studies.

The discussion should emphasize:

  • Interpretation of findings
  • Scientific contribution
  • Implications for Islamic Religious Education

 

Conclusion

The conclusion should answer the research objectives, summarize the major findings, and provide recommendations for future research.

 

Tables and Figures

  • Number tables and figures consecutively.
  • Each table and figure must have a title.
  • Mention every table and figure in the text.
  • Use high-resolution images.

 

References

  • References should primarily consist of scholarly journal articles published within the last 10 years.
  • At least 80% of references should be from scientific journals.
  • Use a minimum of 20 references.
  • Authors are encouraged to cite relevant articles previously published in Al-Muharrik when appropriate.
  • Use a reference management application such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.
  • Citation and bibliography should follow the APA Style (7th Edition).

 

Publication Ethics

Authors must ensure that:

  • The manuscript is original.
  • The manuscript has not been published elsewhere.
  • There is no plagiarism, fabrication, or falsification.
  • All sources are properly cited.
  • All listed authors have made significant contributions.
  • Any conflict of interest is disclosed.

 

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

Artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Grammarly AI, or similar technologies) may be used only to support language improvement or manuscript preparation. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, interpretation, and integrity of the manuscript.

AI tools must not be listed as authors. If AI tools have been used in the preparation of the manuscript, authors must disclose their use in a separate Declaration of AI Use section before the References.

 

Plagiarism Policy

All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software.

The journal only considers manuscripts with an acceptable similarity index after excluding references, quotations, and small matches according to editorial assessment.

 

Submission Process

Authors should submit manuscripts through the Online Journal System (OJS) by:

  1. Registering as an Author.
  2. Logging into the journal website.
  3. Starting a New Submission.
  4. Uploading the manuscript.
  5. Completing all metadata.
  6. Confirming the submission.

Review Process

Each manuscript undergoes:

  1. Editorial screening.
  2. Similarity checking.
  3. Double-blind peer review by at least two reviewers.
  4. Editorial decision:
    • Accept
    • Minor Revision
    • Major Revision
    • Reject
  5. Copyediting and layout editing.
  6. Final publication.

 

Article Processing Charges

Al-Muharrik: Jurnal Pendidikan Agama Islam does not charge any submission fees or article processing charges (APC). All editorial and publication services are provided free of charge.

 

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain the copyright of their work while granting the journal the right of first publication. Articles are published under the journal's licensing policy, allowing users to read, download, copy, distribute, and share the published work with proper attribution.
