Author Guidelines

General Information

Ath-Thufail: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam Anak Usia Dini welcomes original manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and practice in Islamic Early Childhood Education (PIAUD) and related fields. The journal publishes Original Research Articles, Review Articles, Conceptual Papers, and Case Studies.

Submitted manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration for publication in any other journal.

 

Manuscript Language

Manuscripts may be written in:

  • English
  • Bahasa Indonesia

Authors are encouraged to use clear, concise, and academically appropriate language.

 

Manuscript Format

Authors must prepare manuscripts using the official Ath-Thufail Manuscript Template.

General formatting requirements:

  • Paper size: A4
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
  • Line spacing: 1.5
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
  • Manuscript length: 5,000–8,000 words, including references.

 

Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should contain the following sections:

  1. Title
  2. Author(s)
  3. Affiliation(s)
  4. Corresponding Author's Email
  5. Abstract
  6. Keywords
  7. Introduction
  8. Method
  9. Results and Discussion
  10. Conclusion
  11. Acknowledgements (optional)
  12. Declaration of AI Use (if applicable)
  13. References

 

Title

  • Maximum 20 words.
  • Clear, concise, and informative.
  • Reflects the main focus of the study.

Abstract

The abstract should contain 150–250 words and briefly describe:

  • Background
  • Objective
  • Method
  • Results
  • Conclusion

The abstract should not include references or citations.

 

Keywords

Provide 3–5 keywords that accurately represent the content of the manuscript.

 

Introduction

The introduction should explain:

  • Background of the study
  • Review of relevant literature
  • Research gap
  • Novelty of the study
  • Research objectives

 

Method

The method section should clearly describe:

  • Research design
  • Participants or research subjects
  • Research setting
  • Instruments
  • Data collection procedures
  • Data analysis techniques
  • Ethical considerations (if applicable)

 

Results and Discussion

Present findings systematically using tables or figures where appropriate.

The discussion should:

  • Interpret the findings.
  • Compare results with previous studies.
  • Explain theoretical and practical implications.
  • Highlight contributions to Islamic Early Childhood Education.

 

Conclusion

The conclusion should summarize the main findings, answer the research objectives, and provide recommendations for future research.

 

Tables and Figures

  • Number tables and figures consecutively.
  • Every table and figure must have a title.
  • Tables and figures should be cited within the text.
  • Images must be of high quality and clearly readable.

References

Authors are expected to:

  • Use at least 20 references.
  • Ensure that 80% of references are from scholarly journal articles.
  • Prioritize references published within the last 10 years.
  • Cite relevant international and national literature.
  • Use a reference management application such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.
  • Follow APA Style (7th Edition) for citations and references.

 

Publication Ethics

Authors must ensure that:

  • The manuscript is original.
  • The manuscript has not been submitted elsewhere.
  • There is no plagiarism, fabrication, or falsification.
  • All cited sources are properly acknowledged.
  • All listed authors have made substantial contributions.
  • Conflicts of interest are disclosed when applicable.

 

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

AI-assisted tools (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot, Grammarly AI, or similar technologies) may only be used to support language editing or manuscript preparation.

Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, interpretation, and integrity of the manuscript.

AI tools must not be listed as authors.

If AI has been used during manuscript preparation, authors should include a Declaration of AI Use before the References section.

 

Plagiarism Policy

All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software before entering the peer-review process.

Manuscripts containing plagiarism or serious ethical violations will be rejected.

 

Peer Review Process

Every manuscript undergoes:

  1. Initial editorial screening.
  2. Similarity checking.
  3. Double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.
  4. Editorial decision:
    • Accept
    • Minor Revision
    • Major Revision
    • Reject
  5. Copyediting and layout editing.
  6. Final publication.

 

Article Processing Charges

Ath-Thufail adopts a Diamond Open Access publishing model.

There are:

  • No submission fees.
  • No article processing charges (APC).
  • No publication fees.

All editorial and publishing services are provided free of charge.

 

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain the copyright of their published work while granting the journal the right of first publication.

Published articles may be read, downloaded, distributed, and cited in accordance with the journal's licensing policy.

 

Submission Procedure

Authors should submit manuscripts through the Online Journal System (OJS):

  1. Register as an Author.
  2. Log in to the journal website.
  3. Start a New Submission.
  4. Upload the manuscript.
  5. Complete all metadata.
  6. Confirm the submission.

Authors may monitor the editorial process through their OJS account.
